Switch task views: Board and List

The Tasks page lays your tasks out two ways, and you switch between them with the view switcher. The switcher sits on the right of the sub-nav row (the row with Tasks and Pipeline under Deliver), and only while you’re on the Tasks list. This page covers both views and what each is good for. For where tasks come from, see Where tasks come from.

Your choice of view is remembered — pick one and it’s still selected the next time you open any project’s Tasks page.

Board

Board is the default: a column layout with one column per stage of a task’s life — Pending, Queue, Running, Completed, and Failed. It’s the best view for seeing the flow of work across a busy project at a glance, since every status is on screen at once. Each column shows a count and a View all link that opens the List filtered to that status.

The Completed column is time-windowed so it doesn’t grow without limit — choose how far back it reaches with the Completed: last control above the columns. Pick a preset — 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month — or type a custom number of days (1 to 30; the default is 7) in the box beside them. The window affects only the Completed column; the other columns always reflect the present.

List

List is the alternate view: a flat, scrollable list of tasks, paged in groups of 20. Because the Board already gives you the cross-status overview, the List shows one status at a time. It has two extra controls:

  • Status filter tabsPending, Queued, Running, Completed, Failed, Cancelled, and Archived. Select one to narrow the list to tasks in that state. There’s no “all statuses” tab; the List always shows a single status, and it opens on Pending.
  • Search — a box that matches a task’s title, its issue key, or the title of the request it came from. Search covers the tasks currently loaded on the page you’re viewing, not the whole history, so the pager is hidden while you’re searching.

The project’s Queue panel, when there are tasks waiting, sits just above the list — see The task queue.

Switching views

Select Board or List in the view switcher to change layout. Switching to List brings the filter tabs and search box; switching back to Board lays every status out side by side. Whichever you choose sticks until you change it again.
