Your run has stopped. The run detail page shows it isn’t failed and isn’t finished — it’s just sitting there. If the state reads Waiting for Answer, the run is doing exactly what it should: it reached a point it couldn’t decide on its own and asked you a question.
This isn’t a malfunction. The run hit a choice, an ambiguity, or a missing detail, and it’s holding for your reply rather than guessing.
For the full walk-through, see Answer a question a run is waiting on. This page is the quick diagnosis.
Confirm it’s actually a question
Open the run detail page and read the status badge near the top:
- Waiting for Answer — the run paused to ask you something. This page applies; keep reading.
- Waiting for Gate, Waiting for Payment, or Awaiting Plan Approval — the run is paused for a different reason. See Run states for which page you need.
- Running — the run isn’t stuck at all; give it a moment.
Unlike a gate or a payment pause, this state is specific to this run. The work in front of it needs a decision only you can make, so no amount of waiting will clear it on its own.
Find the question
On the run detail page, look for a panel telling you the run is waiting for your answer. The question itself sits inside it, in its own box.
If you missed that the run had stopped, the question may also have reached you another way: if the project has Slack notifications set up, DIJJI.ai posts a step waiting for answer message to the channel. See Notifications reference for what DIJJI.ai sends and when.
Answer it
Read the question carefully — it’s asked in the run’s own words, and your answer steers the rest of the work. Type your reply in the Type your answer… box in plain language, then select Submit Answer.
There’s no time limit. The run holds its place indefinitely while you decide — leave the page and come back if you need to check something first. Answering isn’t admin-only either: anyone on the project’s team who can open the run can respond.
Once you submit, the run leaves Waiting for Answer, returns to Running, and picks up from the step where it paused. Nothing already done is repeated.
I answered, but the run still looks stuck
Give it a moment. There’s a short delay between submitting your answer and the run restarting — refresh the run detail page if it still shows the old state.
I answered the wrong thing
You can’t take an answer back — once you submit, the run has already read it and moved on. Let the run continue. If the result isn’t what you wanted, cancel it and start a fresh run from the task page; the new run plans again from the start.
Still stuck after answering
If you submitted an answer, you’ve waited a few minutes, and the run still shows Waiting for Answer — reach out to DIJJI.ai support. Include the project name, the task, and the run number.
