A stage is one step on the path your work travels. This page covers removing one from a pipeline. For what stages mean, see The pipeline: stages and gates.
Open the stage
From your project, select Pipeline. The stages appear as a row in the Pipeline Flow card. Select the stage you want to remove — its Stage Configuration panel opens below the row.
Remove the stage
At the top right of the Stage Configuration panel, select Remove.
The stage drops out of the row right away, and the selection moves to the first remaining stage. Nothing is deleted yet — the change isn’t applied until you save.
A pipeline must keep at least one stage. When only one stage is left, the Remove button doesn’t appear, so you can’t empty the pipeline.
Save
Removing a stage isn’t applied until you save. While you have unsaved edits, the page shows “Unsaved changes. Click Save to apply.” and a Discard button appears next to Save — select Discard to drop the change and bring the stage back.
Select Save. A Save Pipeline dialog confirms the change: “This will update your pipeline with N stages. Existing stages will be updated and removed stages will be deleted.” Select Save Pipeline to confirm. When the save succeeds, the page shows “Pipeline saved.”
The deletion applies to runs that start after you save.
